Instructions

STEP ONE
Arrange materials.

Lay short boards out on cutting table parallel to one another. Properly space the boards so they are equidistant from one another relative to the long boards.

STEP TWO
Paint the shutter's long boards.

This step is optional, but if you have a desired look for your shutters, it could provide some serious curb appeal! Paint the long trim boards to your desired color, and let them fully dry before securing them to the short boards.

STEP THREE
Assemble.

Next, place the long boards flat on top of the short boards, running in the opposite direction.

STEP FOUR
Assemble the boards.

Insert spacers between long boards in order to ensure spacing is consistent. Using your screwdriver, secure the long boards to the short boards, starting with the middle, then moving to the edges.

STEP FIVE
Add it to your home.

Attach you DIY shutter to your exterior siding next to your window. Step back and take it all in!

Now, kick your feet up!
